ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMPETITION
Associazione Cinematografica Casereccio with the collaboration of "Comune di Cuveglio" and "Comunità Montana della Valcuvia" announces the Cuveglio Film Festival 2009, an International self-produced short films competition.
The event will take place at the City Hall in Cuveglio, Italy, in May 2009. The exact date will be communicated to all the subscribed authors and will be published on the official web site of the Festival.
REGULATIONS
All conditions are to be considered valid for all categories specified below.
All films submitted must be of recent production, completed not prior to 1st January 2008. The duration of the film must not exceed 20 minutes and the film must be in possession of all the qualifications required:
- Only independent works will be accepted: the film has to have been produced without financing from film production companies and has not to be destined to trading.
- All films considered offensive to other people, i.e. containing pornography, racism, incitation to violence and war, will be excluded.
- The author of the film is responsible for his own work's contents.
- Only DVDs are admitted.
- The submitted films will be judged by the staff of the Associazione Cinematografica Casereccio that will decide, according to the above mentioned conditions, which films have to be admitted. Only in exceptional circumstances will the staff accept interesting films considered otherwise not admissible.
- The author accepts all conditions written on the online entry form.
- A short video (1 minute) with the presentation of the film will be appreciated. However, in case the film is admitted to the final competition, this presentation video is compulsory. This video can be sent to us later on, when you receive the communication of the admission to the final competition.
- In order to be eligible for selection the film must be accompanied by: the signed selection entry form and 2 DVD videos.

ITALY
The film must be presented no later than 8th March 2009. The films destined to the section “CortoGiovani” must be presented no later than 15th March 2009.
LIBERA
This section is destined to Italian citizens only (Italian living abroad too). The works do not need to have a specific topic.
CORTOGIOVANI
Only films realized by schools, parish youth clubs, youths of socio-educational projects or similar will be admitted in this section.
VIDEOCLIP
Section destined to self-produced video clips for singers or bands.
INTERNATIONAL
Section destined to foreigners (no Italian living abroad). In order to be eligible for selection the film must be in Italian or must have Italian or English subtitles.
FUORI CONCORSO
This section is for all the submitted films that have not been selected but are worthy.
JURY AND AWARDS
A qualified jury and the audience will award different prizes for each category. More information will be availableonline.

The list of the final awards will be published online.
The audience will vote during the festival throughout a voting paper. Jury and audience evaluations are final. All selected film will be shown during the Festival.
REFUND
The authors of the selected films will receive a forfait refund for the contingent expenses supported to attend the Festival. More details will be communicated at time of films selection.
ARCHIVE
DVDs submitted will not be returned and will be transferred to the archive of the Associazione Casereccio that will have the opportunity to use and copy them, with no time limits, in non-profit cultural activities and in CFF promo activities. Other attached materials (integration to synopsis, stories, etc.) do not substitute the materials required as specified in the entry form. Associazione Casereccio could use them for the creation of extra materials (Festival web site, catalogue, DVD-ROM, etc.)
GENERAL RULES
Participation in the Festival automatically entails observance of the regulations herein. The staff reserves the right to make any modifications and integrations that will be promptly communicated. The author of the awarded film authorizes the Festival staff to broadcast the work via TV and/or web sites partners in order to promote the Festival in a non-profit way releasing the Associazione, TV and web sites from any possible claims from a third person for any reason.
